21 Questions (no, not the 50 cent song)

Hi and welcome back to my blog. I thought it would be a good idea to get to know me. I thought the best way is by answering some questions. I’ll pop a couple of photos in too. I always really enjoy reading other peoples so I thought it would be fun to do my own. So without further ado, here they are:

1)What is your name and where are you from?

My name is Cecilia and I was born and grew up in Cambridge. I am of Nigerian heritage so try and go back every year.

2)If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

I think I’d have to choose Canada. I went to Toronto a couple of years ago with my best friend and had the best time. There was so much to see and do. My favourite was Niagara falls - even if I did have to sacrifice my favourite pair of boots!

3) What is your favorite thing about your career?

In my full time job I am a nurse. It is challenging, but really rewarding. I really enjoy the opportunity to help people when they most need it, with expecting nothing in return.

4) What did you want to be when you were little?

Oh I had so many ideas. I wanted to be a shopkeeper so I could eat sweets all day. I obviously didn’t realise I would be eating all my profits

5) What two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most?

I do like KISS fm, especially Kisstory hour. I can’t get over those old school anthems. I don’t have one of those cars with the fancy DAB radios, so can’t listen all the time.

6) If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?

Does cleaning include laundry? If so, then laundry. I can’t put my finger on why I don’t like it so much. If I could pay someone to do it, I definitely would.

7) If money was no object, what would you do all day?

I think I would split it between crafting and adventure. They are my two favourite things, but also can be expensive.

8) How would your friends describe you?

I think my friends would describe me as kind, outgoing and sarcastic on the rare occasion. I always have a song in my head and they say I sing the same line over and over, which I have been told on multiple occasions can be very annoying, sorry pals.

9) How many pairs of shoes do you own?

My boyfriend would say too many. I think probably around 20, but most of those are trainers.

10) If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?

I would love to be able to transport anywhere at the click of a finger. The time and money saved on flights would be immeasurable.

What's your favorite farm animal?

I really love Goats. To be honest, they are my favourite animal in general. I would like to own one, one day.

How many pillows do you sleep with? Controversial answer, but I only have a pillow because it is the social norm. It usually ends up on the other side of the bed by the time I wake up though.

12) What's the most daring thing you've ever done?

I went on holiday by myself. I went to Amsterdam by myself and it was really great. I stayed in a hostels and met some great people. I would highly recommend travelling alone every once in a while.

13) What's your favorite type of foreign food?

It would hands down, have to be Jollof rice and plantain. Shout out to my Nigerian heritage.

14) What's your favorite film?

My favourite genres are comedies and psychological thrillers. I can’t choose just one (sorry). I would have to choose Mean girls or shutter island.

15)Is your glass half full or half empty?

First things first, I’m a realist (what happened to Iggy Azalea? She kind of just disappeared, right?) I digress, my glass is always half full. My outlook on life is that situations don’t last forever. I try to always have a positive outlook on life even if I am going through things. There is always a little ray of hope.

16) What was your favorite subject in school?

I really enjoyed Chemistry and Art. I took Chemistry at A Level and hated it. I realised I just liked it for the experiments involving bunsen burners. I really enjoyed the creative part of Art. I didn’t enjoy writing about the artists though.

17) Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?

Flared jeans. I remember they were in fashion in the early 2000’s. What a time to be alive. I believe they came back recently, but it wasn’t widespread.

18) Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

I think I am a shy extrovert. I really like going out and trying new things. I love a festival or a gig. I like conversations with people, but wouldn’t be the first to start them. That is where the shy part comes in.

19) What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your office or kitchen window?

Every time I am constantly reminded of how I said I would try and go on a bike ride at least 3 times a week. It unfortunately hasn’t moved in the past couple of months.

20) On a scale of 1-10 how funny would you say you are?

I would say probably a 6. I am not really a ‘tell-a-joke’ sort of person, but I do have witty one liners every once in a while.

21) What was your first job?

I was a checkout person at M&S food. The 20% was so good. Working every weekend as a 16 year old was not that great though.

So I hope that gave you a little insight into my life and what makes me tick. I would really like to find out about you too. I just find people fascinating. Check out my twitter and instagram below to find out more. Thank you very much for reading. See you soon.
